My Latest Single: The Road to Where I Am Heading

Download the full song here.

LYRICS: The Road to Where I Am Heading
Sitting here, looking at this photo album
It brings back so many memories
Sometimes I wish they would come alive again
And I could just jump into it

Sometimes, today seems sad
Compared to back then when everything seemed alright
But I know we need to keep moving on

It's a long road to where I'm heading
Half of the road has been travelled
So much has been seen

It's a long way my dreams will take me
I don't know where or when the next
Adventure will be

It's a long road to where I'm heading
Half of the road is still unknown
So much still to do

But I know it will be worth
Every day, every sacrifice
Cause where the dreams are
Is where I belong.

In the darker times I need some courage
One thing I do is to look back
Seeing those memories and dreams that inspire
I feel so refreshed again

And then I get the strength, to
Look at the future and say here I come
There's a long way ahead I'll keep moving on

It's a long road to where I'm heading
Half of the road has been travelled
So much has been seen

It's a long way that my dreams will take
I don't know where or when the next
Adventure will be

It's a long road to where I'm heading
Half of the road is still unknown
So much still to do

But I know it will be worth
Every day, every sacrifice
Cause where the dreams are
Is where I belong.

My Song for the International Marriage Equality Vote Pledge

Download the full song here.

LYRICS: Right Now (Marriage Equality Song)

Right now, I'm checking my email
Another friend is getting married
I congratulate her, promise to attend the wedding
But then something sad came into her mind

Right now, there are people's weddings stolen
Please don't tell me, that you don't care
Cause we do all feel the hurt, if there's no equality
It doesn't matter who's the target

Right now, there's a chance to make a difference
Pick up your phone, talk to your friends
And together we can act, we can change minds one at a time
We need to get people to care

And when we walk into the polling booth
We must not forget
We hold the power of hope in our hands

Right now, they are still waiting
Don't you think that, twenty years are plenty
All they ask is to walk, down the aisle with each other
Do we turn a blind eye, Till it's all too late

Right now, there are people's weddings stolen
Please don't tell me, that you don't care
Cause we do all feel the hurt, if there's no equality
It doesn't matter who's the target

Right now, there's a chance to make a difference
Pick up your phone, talk to your friends
And together we can act, we can change minds one at a time
We need to get people to care

And when we walk into the polling booth
We must not forget
We hold the power of hope in our hands

Right now, in families everywhere
There are people, whose wedding have to wait
Their parents, their brothers, their sisters, their friends
They are all waiting for, a moment too long

Right now, there are people's weddings stolen
Please don't tell me, that you don't care
Cause we do all feel the hurt, if there's no equality
It doesn't matter who's the target

Right now, there's a chance to make a difference
Pick up your phone, talk to your friends
And together we can act, we can change minds one at a time
We need to get people to care

And when we walk into the polling booth
We must not forget
We hold the power of hope in our hands

Right now, there are people's weddings stolen
Please don't tell me, that you don't care
Cause we do all feel the hurt, if there's no equality
It doesn't matter who's the target

Right now, there's a chance to make a difference
Pick up your phone, talk to your friends
And together we can act, we can change minds one at a time
We need to get people to care

We need to get people to care

TaraElla Original 2014 - Not That Kind of Retro

The inspiration for this came from several things. One of which was a discussion with a friend several months ago about one of my favourite pop artists, who was a more traditionally inclined person. The discussion then turned to marriage equality, and my friend said that the artist we were discussing was unlikely to support it. I didn't think so. Hence this.

This song is now available at the TaraElla Google Play shop.

LYRICS: Not That Kind of Retro

Some friends say I'm old fashioned
Guess I'm like my parents too
They long for the 70s, I long for the 90s
No I really don't like how some things changed
There's a lot of retro stuff in my music
I really don't know how to twerk

'98 is still yesterday to me
Some people may think that
Our type always clings to the past
No matter if it's good or bad
But if that's what you think
Then you're wrong

I'm not that kind of retro
I'm not afraid to speak up
I won't take those excuses
I refuse to be blind

I'm not that kind of retro
I won't put up with bigotry
Bullying is still bullying to me
Even if it's traditional.

Some friends think I just don't get it
What's wrong with a few rude scenes
What a puritan you are, you don't let us have fun
No I really can't stand some things these days
There's a lot of retro stuff in my music
I don't care what is cool

'98 is still yesterday to me
Some people may think that
Someone like me just won't care about
Things like Marriage equality
But if that's what you think
Then you're wrong

I'm not that kind of retro
I'm not afraid to speak up
I won't take those excuses
I refuse to be blind

I'm not that kind of retro
I won't put up with bigotry
Bullying is still bullying to me
Even if it's traditional.

I may like the old stuff
But I certainly have a heart too
Sometimes I'm Torn
But I will stand strong
I cannot see people suffer and do nothing, because

I'm not that kind of retro
I'm not afraid to speak up
I won't take those excuses
I refuse to be blind

I'm not that kind of retro
I'm not afraid to speak up
Bullying is still bullying to me
Even if it's traditional.

I'm not that kind of retro
I'm not afraid to speak up
I won't take those excuses
I refuse to be blind

I'm not that kind of retro
I won't put up with bigotry
Bullying is still bullying to me
Even if it's traditional.

TaraElla Original 2014 - The Real World is Overrated

A taste of my new material coming up

This song is now available at the TaraElla Google Play shop.

LYRICS: The Real World is Overrated

When I was kid
I was told that a great big world
Awaited us
And one day we would get there
But along the way
We started to find out
It was all a, it was all a myth
A myth passed down generations

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
Then have a quarter-life crisis
The real world is overrated anyway
People get it too late
And wonder where their life has been

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
And asked why they ever grew up
The real world is overrated anyway
But please don't despair
Cause there's something better for us
If we dare to dream.

Sounds too good to be true,
But when you look closer you'll see the reality,
It really ain't too pretty
Everyone is asleep,
Sleepwalking through their everyday motions,
It's time to wake up everybody.

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
Then have a quarter-life crisis
The real world is overrated anyway
People get it too late
And wonder where their life has been

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
And asked why they ever grew up
The real world is overrated anyway
But please don't despair
Cause there's something better for us
If we dare to dream.

The real world is overrated
Don't you know
The real world is overrated
Wake up now
Wake up now

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
Then have a quarter-life crisis
The real world is overrated anyway
People get it too late
And wonder where their life has been

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
And asked why they ever grew up
The real world is overrated anyway
But please don't despair
Cause there's something better for us
If we dare to dream.

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
Then have a quarter-life crisis
The real world is overrated anyway
People get it too late
And wonder where their life has been

The real world is overrated anyway
Heaps of people find out
And asked why they ever grew up
The real world is overrated anyway
But please don't despair
Cause there's something better for us
If we dare to dream.
